Five things that inspire me to live and to work hard and to be happy.
In this post I will just talk about one of them, I'll continue the other 4 in other posts.
- Kpop idols
I know this is going to sound so cliche but my korean idols inspire me. Becoming a kpop idol is hard, they go through endless amounts of lessons and training in the hopes that maybe one day they will be able to debut. Being a trainee does not guarantee that you'll be able to debut one day. But once you are told that you will debut under a group or as a solo artist, there is still that feeling that you won't be popular and that people won't love you because there are so many korean groups that already exist.
Being a korean idol i think is especially hard because yes being celebrity means being watched constantly and always being under scrutiny for something, but I think korean idols have it worse because Korea is such a conservative country and korean netizens are so crazy and critical of everything, unlike westerner fans.
Kpop idols inspire me because there is always the risk of somehow ruining your career. No matter what you do or how popular you are, there is always the risk that something wrong might happen, but the fact that some of these idols take those risks and even though they might end badly, they try even harder the next time to make their fans happy.
Some might say that they do all this for the money and sure if you have a certain amount of popularity you earn tons of money, but I think that if you wanted lots of money, you wouldn't pick being an idol. I don't think money is worth the amount of things they have to go through. It's not just singing and dancing. It's singing until you have no voice left. Dancing until your whole body is drenched in sweat. And that's not all. Korean idols are also expected to be on tv shows and make people laugh and entertain them. It just seems like such a hectic lifestyle and isn't really worth however much money you earn.
I honestly think that deep down there's a love for music and dance and the fans who have supported this passion of music and dance, that's worth all the hard work. And to have so much perseverance to keep working and trying so hard for the things you love, really inspire me.
