day 3 - your thoughts on religion
I didn't really grow up in a deeply religious family, so it has never really phased me.
I know that some people are religious and again I don't really mind it because it is there lives.
Though it does annoy me when people stereotype religions.
Like I don't know much about Catholicism or Christianity but I'm sure not all people who believe in God or Jesus, hate homosexuals or think it homosexuality is wrong.
I have an uncle who is a homosexual and his partner is a priest and I mean it's just so stupid to make assumptions like that.
Some people interpret their religion in different ways and it's just so wrong that some people think that when people belong to a particular faith that they all think the same way.
Religion has never really changed the way I think of people. I've just sort of accepted it as part of who they are. I think if you read too deep into things like religion, especially if you don't know much about it, you tend to make wrong assumptions about the person and that's why I try to re-frame myself from judging a person because of their religion.
As a person I would like to adapt many different religions because I think there are so much to learn and gain from so many religions and to restrict myself to just one I would be missing out.
Whether or not you have a religion or not, it's your choice and you shouldn't let people discourage you in something that you truly believe in.
